The Institute of the Civil Engineering and Real Estate Economics Receives International Recognition

From 7 to 10 March 2016, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the IEOM 6th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management took place. The conference brought together researchers and practitioners from more than 70 countries, including the researchers of RTU Institute of the Civil Engineering and Real Estate Economics who presented a number of research results. The representatives of the Institute were Professor Ineta Geipele, who led the sections “Case Studies” and “Construction Management”, and research assistants and doctoral students: Linda Kauškale, who led the section “Production Planning and Management” and “Case Studies”, Līga Kamola, who led the section “Sustainability and Green Systems”, as well as Uldis Kamols and Svetlana Ivanova.

The director of the Institute, Professor Ineta Geipele received the Distinguished Educator Award for her contribution to science. Whereas, Professor Ineta Geipele and research assistant and doctoral student Linda Kauškale’s article “Real Estate Investment Management and Macroeconomic Sustainability: Case of Latvia and International Experience” received the excellence award Best Track Paper Award in construction management.


The representatives of the Institute presented a number of research results at the 14th International Conference on Civil and Environmental Engineering (I2C2E) organized by ResearchWorld in Singapore, held on 4 March 2016, where work of one section was led by research assistant Uldis Kamols.


At the conferences, the latest achievements in science were presented, discussions and debates on international experience in engineering, management science and economic issues took place.
